UCSD: Do Not Comply in Advance

Academic freedom, human rights, and constitutional liberties at UC San Diego are under direct threat. Triton Courage seeks to unite alumni, faculty, and students to demand the university defend them.

Protect our place of learning.

Protect our place of learning.

Every week of silence is a week of anticipatory compliance.
Mission

We support UCSD in standing up for academic freedom, human rights, constitutional rights, and civil liberties at the university.

Vision

UCSD must remain a beacon of academic excellence, free from interference by outside political forces. Its leadership has a chance to leave a lasting mark by living its commitment to academic freedom, not just stating it.

UCSD also has a responsibility to lead the San Diego community in standing up for democratic values.

Our Objectives

UCSD leadership protects academic freedom. Full stop. No exceptions made under political pressure.

Students, faculty, and staff are protected from illegal and politically motivated threats to inclusion, peaceful expression, and privacy.

How We Get This Done
01

Mobilize alumni participation in Triton Courage.

02

Work with UCSD alumni and other UC-affiliated groups and community allies to challenge undemocratic or unlawful orders by the federal government or other outside forces, by all legal means.

03

Tell the UCSD administration, in no uncertain terms, that alumni strongly object to anticipatory compliance with an increasingly authoritarian regime.

04

Engage the administration on its policies toward outside law enforcement entities, including police, ICE, and CBP.

05

Identify and support legal and public advocacy efforts as they're needed.
